Installer fails with error -6003 on Windows host Print


While running the Windows installer, the Installshield installer prematurely exits with code -6003, and a screen capture similar to the following:


This problem can occur when the user running the installation does not have full access to required files in the InstallShield 'common files' folder.

The easiest resolution is to rename or delete this folder.  When the installer next runs, the InstallShield will recreate the directory structure with proper access to all files for the current user.

The 'common files' location is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield" for a standard Windows (English) installation.  For non-default or non-English installations, the location will be "InstallShield" under the directory specified by the "CommonProgramFiles" environment variable.
