Using a low value for the UDP ceiling or throttle will force TCP protocol use Print

Problem:

I get the following message on one of my jobs "Extremely low UDP ceiling or bandwidth specification has forced the transfer to the TCP protocol.".  What does this mean and why does it occur?  Why is my transfer being forced to use TCP when I have specified UDP?

Resolution:

In a UDP transfer, if the bandwidth or ceiling are set to very low values (less than 58Kbps), Signiant will check to see if the job is set to use a UDP control channel. If this is the case, then the transfer will use the UDP protocol. Otherwise, Signiant will automatically switch to a TCP transfer with the default bandwidth set to the lower of the throttle/ceiling values.
