Message Seen from the Manager Interface: Cannot Connect to Database, Unable to Get Managed Connection Print

Symptoms:

I get the following pop up error when clicking on any menu in the Manager interface.

Resolution 1:

Make sure that the database is running, if not, try to start it.
Windows: Start > Run > Type services.msc > Press Enter > Look at the status for Signiant PostgreSQL Database Server
Linux: /etc/init.d/siginit status

If the database is running, check name resolution on the Manager (i.e is the manager able to resolve it's own name/IP correctly).
From the Manager bin directory, <signiant install directory>/bin, run the following command:
dds_hostnm
The command should return the Manager's fully qualified domain name (FQDN) and resolve to the correct IP address. If dds_hostnm does not return the correct information, make all necessary changes in the Manager hosts file and ensure the dds_hostnm returns the proper FQDN and IP.

Once the Manager is able to resolve it's name correctly, restart the Signiant Services and log in to the Manager.

Resolution 2:

Examine <signiant install directory>/log/web/signiant.log.  Look for:

Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: missing or erroneous pg_hba.conf file

If that line exists, then there is an error in <signiant install directory>/db/pgsql_81/data/pg_hba.conf
