Permission Denied when Windows Agent Attempts to Renew a Certificate Print

Problem:

The Windows agent is not able to perform an online certificate renewal. The renewal fails with an error: "Permission Denied".

This can happen when a dds_file_agnt has failed to exit which locks the dds.ssf file in the security directory.

Resolution:

  1. Shutdown the Signiant Process Controller and Signiant UDP Relay.
  2. End task on all dds_file_agnt processes.
  3. Revoke the certificate for the agent in the Manager while not deleting it from the list of agents.
  4. From C:\Program Files\Signiant\Mobilize\bin run: dds_cert getnewcert -org [your organization id] -key keyless If aliases or altnames are required add them at the end of the line above with -alt [alternate.agent.hostname].
  5. Restart the Signiant Process Controller and Signiant UDP Relay.
